THE ECONOMICS GAME

The Economics Game is an exciting new guide for teachers in Grades 3 – 5, written by Mary Anne Benjamin, a third grade teacher. It was originally developed to teach standard elementary mathematics but quickly evolved into an exciting classroom activity introducing basic economic concepts and skills.
The Economics Game uses standard mathematics units on money and making change and encourages a role playing game in which children are “paid” a salary for the work done in school and are responsible for “buying” items they need or want.
